Description
Captivo Labs connects your RingCentral account to your Smokeball account. When you receive a call, our system looks up the contact from your Smokeball and displays it to you before answering the actual call. When a call ends, it's logged against the right contact, the right matter, the right account along with notes, AI transcription summaries, tasks, and call duration.

Integration Diagrams
Captivo Labs integrates RingCentral and Smokeball using RingCentral's App Connect framework — a Chrome extension that embeds directly into the Smokeball interface. When a call comes in or goes out, App Connect detects the call event and passes it to Captivo Labs' middleware server, which handles all communication between the two platforms.
Authentication is handled securely via OAuth 2.0 for both platforms. Users connect their Smokeball account once through a standard OAuth authorisation flow, and Captivo Labs securely stores the resulting access credentials — these are never exposed to the browser or the end user. When a call occurs, Captivo Labs uses Smokeball's REST API to search for a matching contact by phone number, retrieve associated matter information, and create or update activity records on the relevant matter file. On the RingCentral side, Captivo Labs uses the RingCentral API to access call metadata including duration, direction, recording links, and where licensed, AI-generated transcripts and summaries from RingSense. All data in transit is encrypted via TLS, and credentials are encrypted at rest.
