MatterSnail sends USPS mail for law firms: First-Class, Certified with electronic return receipt, and Priority. Upload a PDF, add recipients, and submit. Mail submitted before 12:00 p.m. Pacific on a business day is printed, stuffed, and handed to the USPS that day. Every recipient gets its own tracked delivery status, and you can add a Proof of Service to any mailing and download a Certificate of Acceptance for every certified letter.
Connected to Smokeball, the whole mailing starts and ends in the matter:

Import everyone on a matter
Pick a Smokeball matter and every party on it appears with their role, such as Executor, Beneficiary, Heir, or Creditor. Tick the ones to mail and their addresses are added to the mailing in one step. Anyone with no mailing address in Smokeball is shown with the reason, so nothing is silently skipped. Built for probate notices and creditor mailings.
Import a contact's address
Search your Smokeball contacts by name, company, or trust. The matching contact's mailing address fills the recipient form, with the open matters they are on shown alongside so you can confirm you picked the right person. You review the address before anything is saved.
Mail a PDF straight from the matter
Open the Smokeball Documents page, pick a matter, and start a mailing from any PDF filed on it. Or, from inside a mailing you already have open, import a Smokeball file into it. No downloading and re-uploading.
Post the cost to the matter as an expense
Tick Log an expense in Smokeball when you submit. Once the mailing can no longer be cancelled, its final cost is posted to the matter as a hard-cost expense with the activity code you chose, ready to bill to the client. Cancel in time and nothing is posted.
File a memo on the matter
Tick Add a memo in Smokeball and a memo is filed on the matter recording what was mailed, to how many recipients, and the mailing reference, with an optional message of your own. Every mailing leaves a note in the matter without anyone typing it.

Submit before 12:00 p.m. Pacific on a business day and your mail is printed, stuffed, and handed to the USPS that day.
